Accident on Robert Broom after failed u-turn

An accident on Robert Broom Drive this morning left none injured, but one with a lesson learned.

Traffic was heavily delayed after a tow-truck had to remove a damaged Cheverolet Lumina from the middle of Robert Broom Drive this morning.

The accident occurred due to a failed u-turn attempt by the driver of a light motor vehicle driving in the left lane.

“He drove right into me as I came up behind him in the right lane,” the Lumina driver told the News.

According to Netcare 911 official who were on the scene, no serious injuries were tended to.

After the the scene was cleared at about 10am this morning, traffic, now congested for almost 500 metres down the road, was diverted.

“I don’t know why he turned into me, it happened out of nowhere.”

Even though both drivers were still on the scene, no tempers were seen flaring.
