Krugersdorp police made a huge discovery following up on information given by the community about illegal drug trade in the area.

Drug dealers’ stock took a bad knock as police closed in on R283 000 worth of drugs in central Krugersdorp over the past weekend.

A group of police members met at a house in York Street, a street away from Krugersdorp’s infamous drug and prostitute hub; Sivewright Street, where they made one of the biggest drug busts yet.

Police and stakeholders found drugs hidden in a dilapidated house along with two foreign nationals, one being from the Congo and the other from Nigeria.

Drugs galore discovered while police raided a house close to Sivewright Street in central Krugersdorp.

Both the foreign nationals could not directly be linked to the drugs found in the house but were however taken into police custody for questioning.

It is the first time this house was raided by police who are working around the clock to eliminate this epidemic from the streets which is badly infested with illegal trade of narcotics and loitering of prostitutes.

Approximately 200 grams of Cat and Cocaine.

The drugs found in the house varied from Cat, Cocaine, Crystal Meth and Cocaine Rocks:

• 70 grams of Cat (street value R150 per gram)

• 120 grams of Cocaine (street value R300 per gram)

• 950 grams of Crystal Meth (street value R150 per gram)

• 20 Cocaine Rocks (R50 per gram approximately)

A mini electronic scale along with hundreds of empty plastic packets were also recovered by police along with a plastic gun.

Chemicals such as Acetone, Acid, Ratex rat poison and Antifreeze were found in the house suggesting that drugs may have been manufactured there.

These industrial ingredients are usually used to manufacture Tie, or Heroin, which is a very cheap drug used by many prostitutes and beggars on a daily basis.

The drugs confiscated is believed to be the stock of one of most notorious drug dealers operating in the Krugersdorp CBD, Sivewright Street and Krugersdorp West areas.
