[VIDEO] Michael in rehab for two weeks and counting

After he ran away from rehab and went missing, he is able to try again.

A month ago, 24-year-old Michael Botha went missing after he ran away from the Walking With Winners Rehabilitation Centre. A week later, he made contact with his sister, Michelle Senekel, saying he was back in Krugersdorp.

Michelle, who spoke candidly to the News since the article about Michael’s admission of begging for drugs was first published, said Michael is back in another rehab to try and pull his life back together again.

In the video, Michael explains how he got to the point in his life where he started begging to support his drug habit:

Today, Michael has completed a successful two weeks at the Freedom Recovery Centre in Nigel.

“We are hoping that he will complete the six-month program,” Michelle said.

“Even though many people have offered to help Michael, the R6 000 per month bill is a bit heavy to carry, so we still need more support.”

The Centre reassured Michelle and the rest of Michael’s family that he is still positive and is well on his road to recovery. Michael’s sponsors hope that he may one day be able to find a job and live a normal life again.

Why Michael decided to run away from Walking With Winners and did not, or possibly was not allowed to go back, still remains unclear.
