After being chased, man is stabbed to death

Another murder in Magaliesburg leads to another arrest.

After a man was awoken by a rumble on his property, he went on to track the intruder down, eventually stabbing him to death.

On Monday 3 August, the crack of dawn brought along an intruder to the home of a sleeping resident, who is now the suspect of a murder.

“According to the suspect’s girlfriend, they were still fast asleep in Ga–Mogale Informal Settlement when a noise woke her. To her, it sounded as if someone was busy stealing their chickens,” Constable Rebecca Phithi, Magaliesburg Police Spokesperson, said.

After being woken up by his girlfriend, the suspect caught the victim and started to chase him around the yard until he finally managed to stop him.

The man then stabbed the suspect to death with a knife in his upper body.

“Due to police’s quick response, the man was arrested few minutes after the incident,” Phithi said.

The suspect will appear at Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on the charge of murder.
