Late afternoon traffic on Voortrekker Road was slowed down after a man was hit by a truck.
It is believed that the man attempted to kick a vehicle passing.
The driver swerved out of the way and he then attempted to kick the truck and was hit.
Marcel Jonker, an emergency responder from Dowry arrived first on scene and immediately started treating the injured man.
Shortly after ER24 paramedics arrived, followed by the local Community Policing Forum members of Sector 8.
CPF 4 assisted in diverting the traffic flow and cordoning off the scene.
