Fresh approach by police on Mandela Day

Krugersdorp police along with its stakeholders decided to do something different for Mandela Day.

The members of the Krugersdorp police station along with stakeholders decided to take a fresh and different approach to celebrating Mandela Day this past weekend.

The Victim Empowerment Unit together with Polokego Shelter for abused woman and children, the Krugersdorp Women Network and members of the police came together early on 18 July to freshen up the police station and its surrounding areas.

They started off by cleaning picking up the rubbish around the station and later moved to inside the station.

Next was the gardens where the stakeholders planted some colourful flowers in empty garden beddings.

It was smiles, laughs and chats all around as they dedicated 67 minutes towards honouring Nelson Mandela.

Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale wish to remind the community that they should remember that charity begins at home.

“It is wonderful when the community takes hands to help each other move forward. Now the station has a sense of va-va-voom with some colour in the gardens and clean surroundings,” Mashale said.
