Three arrested after body found tied to tree

Three suspects were arrested after a body with multiple stab wounds was discovered.

Three suspects were arrested after the body of a male was discovered tied to a tree last year.

A 19-year-old male suspect from Kwa-Zulu-Natal was arrested at approximately 4pm on Mandela Day followed by his two accomplices the following day who are aged between 18 and 25.

It is alleged that on 14 August 2014 police were called to a scene at 2.20pm in the Tudor Shaft informal settlement in Kagiso.

On arrival police noticed a body of a male tied to a tree with multiple stab wounds.

The victim hands and feet were also tied up.

A case docket of murder was opened and registered at the Kagiso police station for further investigation.

The station commander or Kagiso Brigadier Hendry Mollegae appointed a dedicated investigative team of police officers who tirelessly worked around the clock to locate the perpetrators of this crime and with the assistance of the members of the public the three suspects mentioned above were able to be found and arrested.

Mollegae appreciates the perseverance and dedicated work done by his officers and members of the public that led to the arrest of the suspects.

“He also expressed his satisfaction with the positive investigation performed by the members of his team of detectives,” comments Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Cluster. The suspects are due to appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
