BREAKING: Woman dies in townhouse fire

The cause of the fire that claimed a life at townhouse earlier this morning is unknown.

A fire in a townhouse complex in Mindalore claimed a life in the early hours of Monday morning .

It is believed the fire that had broken out in a complex on Impala Road at approximately 2am this morning left a mother dead. Her son had a narrow escape.

The cause of the fire is unknown, however the News received word that one townhouse unit burned down and two others close by were damaged in the blaze.

According to an anonymous tip-off from a News reader, “Unfortunately the mother did not survive the fire, and was burned alive.”

Mogale City Emergency Services, Krugersdorp Police and ambulance services were at the scene quickly to extinguish the fire and transport the son to a nearby hospital.

The Community Policing Forum committee of Sector 9 expressed their condolences to the victim of the fire who had lost his mother.

The News is still awaiting official comment to verify details of the tragedy that claimed a life.
