Man tries to rape woman for the second time

The complainant was able to point out the suspect during police investigations.

Two accomplices are still on the run after a woman was allegedly raped last month after returning back home from a local tavern.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said the woman alleged that she was walking home when three unknown men stopped her and demanded her cellphone.

They body searched her and found that she has no cellphone on her where after they then took her to an open space.

“Two of the suspects held the complainant onto the ground while their accomplice undressed and raped her,” Sibiya said.

They then took her to a certain address where the suspect tried to rape her for the second time but she was assaulted for resisting.

Sibiya said the matter was later reported to the police and during police investigations she was able to point out the suspect who allegedly raped her.

He was arrested and detained at the Kagiso Police Station and is due to appear briefly in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
