Successful conviction of murderer

A Muldersdrift detective is praised for closing a case successfully.

A thorough investigation by a Muldersdrift detective led to the successful conviction of a murderer.

The 28-year-old Happy Maleke was convicted and sentenced to eight years imprisonment at the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ court.

After the police received a complaint of an alleged murder at the Video Centre informal settlement in Rietfontein, Muldersdrift, a case was opened and handed over to the detectives for further investigation.

On arrival at the crime scene, police found the body of a 29-year-old lying lifeless on the ground.

Detective Sergeant Mokoena was assigned to investigate the docket and worked around the clock to solve the case which led to the conviction and sentencing of Maleke.

“The Station Commander of Mulderdrift Police, Lieutenant Colonel Seabi is very happy about the conviction and appreciates the hard work and motivation,” says Muldersdrift police spokesperson, Hitler Ngwenya.
