Police on fire

Local police made a staggering amount of arrests in a week's time.

It has been great week of hard work and arrests for the police’s Krugersdorp Cluster.

From 11 to 17 May the cluster as a whole made a total of 219 arrests.

The arrests varied from serious to moderate offenses such as armed robbery, rape, murder and housebreaking.

The less serious offenses included illegal immigrants, dealing liquor without a valid liquor licence and other related offenses.

The police are happy to report that all the arrested suspects were charged and some have already made a brief appearances in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

The rest of the suspects are expected to appear in court during this week.

The Cluster Commander, Major General Mateisi indicated that these successes are due to the perseverance and dedication shown by police members and the public in the Krugersdorp Cluster.

“She expressed her satisfaction with the positive action against the crimes committed around the cluster,” said Hitler Ngwenya, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Cluster.
