Guard tied-up while thugs ransack school’s computer room

A security guard was tied -up for about 8 hours after the robbers gained entry.

A security guard from Thathulwazi High School in Rietvallei, Kagiso was tied-up for about 8 hours with computer cables before he managed to break loose.

Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, a police spokesperson said the 50-year-old guard was on duty when six armed men forced entry inside the guard room where he was pointed with a firearm.

“They asked him where the computer room was before taking him to another classroom where they tied his hands and feet with computer cables while still pointing a firearm at him.”

Ngwenya said five other suspects proceeded to the computer room where they gained entry by breaking the door down.

“The suspects have taken an undisclosed amount of computers before fleeing the scene.”

The suspect who was pointing a firearm at the guard also fled.

“The guard thought that they were still inside, but in the morning he managed to untie himself.”

Ngwenya said a police case docket of business robbery was opened at the Kagiso Police Station for further investigation.

Anyone with information are requested to contact the Kagiso Detectives on 011 696 9043 and these suspects are deemed to be extremely dangerous and members of the public are urged not to approach them.
