Robert Broom accident: woman confirmed dead

Dr Jennifer Tanski was allegedly in a coma with severe bleeding on the brain.

The woman who was driving the Toyata Tazz, one of the vehicles involved in this past weekend’s head on collision, sadly passed away shortly after arriving at the Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital.

The woman, Dr Jennifer Tanski, was allegedly in a coma with severe bleeding on the brain.

Photograph sent in by bystanders of the accident on Robert Broom Drive on 2 May.

Another patient, who was also in a serious condition, was airlifted from the accident scene on Robert Broom Drive to the Life Flora Hospital for treatment.

The deceased’s brother commented on the News’s Facebook page about the loss of his sister in the tragic accident.

“I am the brother of the driver of the Tazz who did indeed pass away shortly after arriving at the hospital. She was a full time resident doctor at Bethal, the Watchtower Farm about a kilometre from the accident scene. It was a head on between her car and a SUV and her passenger was very badly injured but stable. Apparently a cat ran across the road, but as the vehicles ended up facing the wrong way and on the other side of the road we will leave it up to eyewitnesses as to who was at fault. If there was a child injured she would have been in the other vehicle. Feel free to message me on Facebook if you want to know anything more,” reads the post.

The News will follow up as soon as more information about the condition of the other two patients become available.
