Four injured in R24 crash

Four people were injured Monday afternoon (16 March) when a bakkie overturned multiple times on the R24 road in Magaliesburg.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said paramedics found a bakkie lying on its side in the veld. Its four occupants were lying next to the vehicle.

He said on assessment, paramedics found that one man had sustained severe injuries to his arm and was in a critical condition.

Three other men were found to have sustained only minor injuries.

“Paramedics had to provide the critically injured man with advanced life support intervention to stabilise his vital signs,” Meiring said.

Once treated, he was transported to Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital for urgent medical care.

The three victims with minor injuries were treated and transported to nearby clinics for further observation.

The cause of the collision is not known yet but local authorities were on scene to conduct further investigations.
