Pedophile claims children encouraged sexual assault

He offered his victims sweets and money and lured them into his home.

A man accused of luring children with sweets and money into his home in Munsieville before sexually assaulting them appeared in the High Court recently.

The court rejected his claim that his victims – girls aged between seven and 11 – encouraged him.

The offender, Moses Mulaudzi (54) was found guilty on three charges of sexual assault, one of rape and four of causing a child to witness a sexual offence.

A neighbour raised the alarm after noticing children frequently visiting Mulaudzi. The children’s statements to the police and the results of medical examinations led to Mulaudzi’s arrest.

Mulaudzi pleaded not guilty to all the charges but the court found the children’s evidence more credible.

Judge Pandya described Mulaudzi as a “manipulative” witness.

His sentencing is scheduled to take place later this year.
