Local paddlers finish the Dusi

All FLCC paddlers crossed the finish line successfully including first-year novices and the community youth development team.

Krugerdorp residents and members of the Florida Lake Canoe Club Gregg McWilliams and his golfing buddy Conrad Durand enjoyed a successful 2014 Dusi – the worlds toughest canoe endurance race.

It was 120km of gruelling cross-country and wild white water rapids over the three days, 13 to 15 February to finish at the Blue Lagoon on the beachfront of Durban.

The pair finished in 225th position out of some 775 boats in a K2 year where the majority boats were doubles, in an overall time of 11 hours and 34 minutes.

Other West Rand achievers include Daryn Koertzen and Gareth Gee who were 130th overall.
