Delicious dishes on Mandela Day

Taste Holdings did what they do best – served delicious food to underprivileged communities.

This year on 18 July individuals and companies from across the globe united to celebrate former President Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday by doing something to uplift communities around them.

Franchise specialist Taste Holdings did what they do best and served delicious foods to underprivileged communities.

The Taste Food division includes the well-known Scooters Pizza, Maxi’s, St Elmo’s and the Fish & Chip Co brands, all of which were present at the Deo Gloria House in Krugersdorp to serve their favourite dishes to the many people that the organisation supports.

“Taste Holdings is fully supportive of the Mandela Day initiative and looks forward, each year, to being able to help those in need. We are the food business and therefore believe that the best way that we can assist people in need is to make sure they receive a great meal,” says Michelle Voges, Taste Holdings CSI Manager.

“The Deo Gloria House is a wonderful organisation that is doing something positive for the Burgershoop and Munsieville communities every day and we truly hope that we can make a significant difference to this organisation and the communities it supports.”

The Deo Gloria House has been assisting people, both young and old, for the past eight years. Their soup kitchen feeds more than 160 children and the aged seven days a week and they donate approximately 300 food parcels a month to families in need.

“Every bit of help makes a huge difference to us and our communities. We are excited to be spoiled with the tasty foods and gifts that we received,” says Christa le Roux, manager of Deo Gloria House.
