Two arrested for stock theft

Three suspects fled with two sheep in the back of their Nissan bakkie.

Two suspects aged 30 and 32 were arrested on 5 July at about 4pm for stock theft in Swanieville.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya says that it is alleged that on 5 July at around noon the complainant was inside his shack when he heard a vehicle hooter.

“He went out to check and noticed three suspects known to him, stealing his sheep. The three suspects fled the scene with two sheep in the back of their Nissan bakkie.”

Sibiya says the complainant informed one of his employers and later alerted the police about the matter.

“The two suspects were arrested and the police are searching for the third suspect.”

A case docket of theft was opened at the Kagiso Police Station against the two suspects and they have appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
