Cradlestone opening on schedule

Cradlestone Mall is just months away from its official opening.

Krugersdorp shoppers can look forward to a nearly completed Cradlestone Mall, which officially will open on 24 October.

With the mall currently in the final stages of its construction, the NEWS caught up with Hilton Dukes from Retail Africa to talk about what Krugersdorpers can expect.

“Everything is on track and we will be ready to open on 24 October,” says an excited Hilton.

What makes Cradlestone Mall unique compared to the other malls in the area is that it has been positioned in easy accessible location that is bound to draw shoppers travelling along the N14 highway towards Krugersdorp.

“With Cradlestone Mall we tried to focus on different designs, layout and new hi-tech features.”

Cradlestone shoppers will be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi (wireless internet access) when visiting the food courts, which also will boast a big screen display. “As far as possible we try to introduce new tenders that will draw the public to visit Cradlestone.”

The mall also boasts with fibre optical cables that have been used throughout the shopping mall and a security tubing system.

“Cradlestone also introduces a tubing system that will deal with most of the cash handling on the premises of the shopping mall.”

The initial idea is that the tubing system may assist in cutting down the amount of cash in transits vehicles typically seen at shopping malls, thus helping cut down in possible robberies.

Movie lovers can look forward to a Ster-Kinekor cinema at Cradlestone, which will boast with eight big screens, of which one will be an Imax.

The Imax screen will draw crowds by showing all the latest 4D releases.

Shopping centres nowadays are an entertainment destination for families and this is exactly what Cradlestone Mall promises to be with a selection of the best fast-food franchises and restaurants in the food court along with the cinema.
