Cradle in need of Hope

Join the Cradle of Hope for a morning tea to raise much-needed funds.

The Cradle of Hope is reaching out to the community of Krugersdorp to assist them with various fundraising projects.

As the Cradle of Hope organisation does not receive any grants or any funding from the government (since they started applying five years ago) or the National Lottery, they are entirely dependent on the goodwill of their individual and business sponsors, as well as their own Fundraising projects.

As one of the Cradle of Hope fundraising initiatives, they will be hosting a morning tea on 22 June at the House of Restoration in aid of raising much needed funds.

“Due to the vast expansion of The Cradle of Hope and our various projects, we desperately require the assistance of committed and dedicated volunteers to help us to be the difference in the lives of so many vulnerable and less-fortunate persons,” says founder Melodie van Brakel.

The funds raised will be used to repair their only vehicle that has been broken for the past few months. It will cost the Cradle of Hope a total of R10 000 to repair their Toyota Tazz that has to be push-started
to be used. The vehicle is used daily to transport not only the goods but also the victims from the various destinations.

The Cradle of Hope’s House of Restoration is a house for vulnerable, abused and destitute mothers, children and young teenage girls.

The Restoration House is currently in dire need of a repaint which was quoted at a whopping R48 000.

Cradle of Hope members are appealing to the community for assistance with the project by means of donations, paint or professional painters.

Other donations needed include non-perishable food, baby formula, disposable nappies (all sizes), baby products, female hygiene products and basic medial supplies.

“We welcome any donations or volunteers as the community help us to help others.”
