No foul play suspected in 40-year-old’s drowning in Tarlton

Divers retrieved the body of a 40-year-old man from a dam in Tarlton. At this stage, drowning is said to be the cause.

Johannesburg Water Policing and Diving Services confirmed that the body of a 40-year-old man was retrieved from a dam on a plot in Tarlton over the weekend.

According to spokesperson Raymond Sambo, divers were deployed to the plot about a drowning at about 13:00 on Saturday, October 5.

“On arrival at the scene, we proceeded to check the depth of the water and a search for the man continued. The body was eventually retrieved at a depth of 1.5m. The man was found trapped under debris submerged under water. Once retrieved, the man’s body was handed over to a station vehicle for further investigations, however, no foul play is suspected at this time,” Sambo stated.
