Women get active at Silverstar

Donna's Fitness and various other fitness clubs commemorated Women's Day during a day full of fitness programmes.

Silverstar Casino was the place to be over the long weekend when many women and girls made their way over to the square to engage and enjoy some fun exercises and break a sweat in lovely August winds.

On Women’s Day, over 130 women and girls showed up to take part in a full-body workout for free with trained professionals. Fitness clubs such as Donna’s Health and Fitness and B to Z Fitness, along with presenters at Silverstar’s Zumba and Fitness Zone kept the crowd kicking and cheering.

The women enjoyed exhilarating workouts ranging from Zumba fitness to bounce blades and Taecross. Many of the moms who took part were also encouraged to bring their children along to enjoy the Kids Zone which also had many fun activities such as Zumba Kids and inflatables to keep them busy while the moms worked out.

“We thought it was important to have a fitness event for Women’s Day! It’s not always possible for women of all walks of life and all body shapes to be together and do something active. We wanted to create awareness that movement is important and you can start anywhere. Just move with what you have,” Aletha said.
