Revving up the community

The sound of roaring engines and shiny chrome echoed through Cowboy Town's streets as owners of vintage cars from the surrounding communities came to display their most valuable assets.

Cowboy Town hosted a classic car show event on Human Rights Day.

Enthusiasts gathered to witness some stunning cars and even a few ‘hidden gems’ as car lovers would call them.
Furthermore, the event took a step back in time to honour the everlasting appeal of classic cars in the vibrant Old West atmosphere.

“We host this event on every public holiday except Easter or any other religious holiday,” said co-owner of Cowboy Town Mia Maré.

Joey Cowley who owns a 1974 Mustang said the car holds sentimental value.

“It was a 31st birthday gift from my husband in the year 1989. I just love the sound of roaring engines. A modern car will never give you this experience,” added Joey.

The guests were amazed by the timeless details and classic elegance of each car. Of course, standing next to their proud possessions were the owners, ready to share stories and provide insights into the restoration process.

Hennie Roodman who owns a black Chevrolet Biscayne added, “I traded my Studebaker truck without hesitation for the Biscayne. It was love at first sight.”

According to Hennie, his car is also known as ‘Jack Daniels’ car’ because he got the Jack Daniels memorabilia in the car boot. He then concluded by saying that he does not have any new plans for his car and he just enjoys driving it as often as possible.
