Get out of abusive and violent relationships – Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital

Social workers at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital adopted a shelter for survivors of gender-based violence for a day during the recent 16 Days of Activism Campaign.

“This initiative aims to appreciate and acknowledge the good work that the shelter does for the community by providing safety, protection and healing spaces,” said social worker Karabo Modise.

Throughout their stay, the atmosphere was more accommodating to all, as they pampered the residents with freshly baked cupcakes and each was offered some ingredients to decorate and inspire creativity. Relations were also strengthened during this special encounter.

The survivors were saluted and commended for their courage to get out of abusive and violent environments.
