Paardekraal principal praises the school as a team

Hennie Bester from Laerskool Paardekraal takes a look back at the year that is coming to a close and looks forward to 2024.

With 2023 coming to an end, the principal of Laerskool Paardekraal Primary, Hennie Bester, shared a festive message with learners, parents, staff and the community.

“Where does the time go – the last 12 months seem to have sped by so quickly and here we are again, it is Christmas and a new year soon. As we approach the end of 2023, we must celebrate the holiday season. This has been a very busy school year and with the end of the year in sight, this is a perfect time to reflect, appreciate, and celebrate the many great things that we have accomplished individually, as a school and as a community.

“We have come so far this academic year. As a team, working together, student achievement continues to reach new levels. Our school continues to be recognised across town and the province for exemplary student growth and our focus on the success of all students. This is a testament to everyone [school governing body, learners staff, parents/ guardians, and the community] who are part of the Laerskool Paardekraal team.

“The school’s successes are a result of everyone working toward the same goal of making Laerskool Paardekraal rate under the best primary schools. I cannot say how appreciative I am to work with such a committed SGB and staff. All of the student governing body and staff work tirelessly, often putting their learners before their health and families.

“As a community, and as a school, we must continue to invest in our learners’ future. We must never forget that our students today are tomorrow’s leaders. Our investment in our youth today will reap the benefits tomorrow. Likewise, if we fail to invest in our youth, the outlook for the school, the community, and our country will be bleak.

“As a school, we are so fortunate to have the best community support. We are truly blessed by how our community is always willing to be there to help students, no matter the request. Our learners are never deprived of resources or experiences as a result of the community’s commitment and involvement. Over the past several months, we were blessed with huge donations from a local business, to enhance the learning experience for many children. These donations and experiences are priceless and we cannot say thank you enough to the local businesses who are willing to take time to help and organise these remarkable experiences and opportunities for our school. Your continued support is critical to the success of our students.

“As the year draws to a close, I ask you to join Laerskool Paardekraal in reflecting on our many blessings. I would encourage everyone to find a way to bring joy to someone else this holiday season so that everyone can experience the many blessings of giving. I want to thank everyone and the members of the governing body for allowing our staff to serve the learners and parents of our community. We are truly blessed as we get to work with the best learners, parents, staff, and community in Krugersdorp. We are all fortunate to be part of such a great community and to teach at the best school, and we must never forget that.

“On behalf of the school governing body and staff of Laerskool Paardekraal, I would like to wish our community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope 2024 is an incredible year for everyone. Take time to relax and rejuvenate. Finally, spend quality time with friends and loved ones.

“And so our journey continues …”
