Simphiwe Ngubane hopes his journey will inspire many youth in Kagiso and set a good example for many aspiring young bodybuilders.

It is nothing new for Krugersdorp to produce sporting gems. They come from humble beginnings in their community and go on to shine in their sporting disciplines.

Simphiwe Ngubane is the latest star to have put the town on the map with his excellent achievements in bodybuilding.

He is an iron man who is well-built with an incredible physique and will soon be competing at one of the most elite bodybuilding competitions in the world. He has been working out as a bodybuilder for eight years and has grown quite literally from strength to strength. He will be competing in the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) World Championships in Spain from October 31 to November 6 and will be competing in the men’s bodybuilding under 90kg category.

Simphiwe developed his interest in bodybuilding from a very young age after watching motivational videos of bodybuilders which inspired him to chase his dreams and write his story.

“I always watched videos of bodybuilders and listened to their background stories. I wanted to tell my own story. The lessons I learnt was to not to give up in life and aiming for stars and believing in everything I do,” Simphiwe said.

He is very dedicated and hardworking to keep himself in the best possible shape as he works out relentlessly for four hours a day. He explains how challenging it is to stay fit and consistent to keep his shame but also adds how his dreams keep him on his toes and how important perseverance is.

“It’s not easy but it’s worth it, you need to train your mind to be stronger than your feelings and tell yourself nothing can stop you. And always believe in yourself.”’

Despite being among the top bodybuilders competing at IFBB his other ambitions include winning Mr Olympia. He has sighted that his biggest idol and inspiration is bodybuilder and YouTuber Derek Lunsford.

Simphiwe hopes that his journey will inspire many youth in Kagiso and hopes to set a good example for many other young aspiring bodybuilders.

“I hope to inspire them and since I’m going to represent my country in Spain, I would want to show young people that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Don’t settle for anything less. I’m really willing to help and push those who need motivation. As young people, we can make it happen together.”

Simphiwe is a dedicated athlete as he has many notable achievements among them having won IFBB South Africa National Championship this year.

He’s got the unwavering support of his community as well as the support of the IFBB West Rand vice chairperson, Bafana Ntamane.

”Simphiwe’s journey is a testament to his dedication, discipline, and hard work and a source of pride for our local community. His achievements not only reflect his personal excellence but also highlight the potential for greatness that exists in Kagiso. His story is of local talent breaking barriers and achieving recognition on a national and international stage. Simphiwe’s dedication to his craft and his success in securing a spot on the international stage in Spain is an inspiring narrative that could motivate and resonate with many people in our community.”

Simphiwe will be off to the grand stage on October 31 and hopes to fly the flag high for Krugersdorp.
