Recycled egg carton craft your child will love making

Brighten up your winter with this egg carton flower craft! This is a fun way to create 3D art out of something you'd normally toss in the bin.

Instead of tossing away your egg carton, recycle it and use it to make this egg carton kids’ projects. Other craft supplies will be required to complete this project but most of them you’ll likely already have at home.

What you need

  • Egg carton
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic paint colours
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue
  • Coloured pom pom
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Paper straw

How to make it

  1. Help your child cut out four containers out of the egg carton. Trim around the edges so that it gives it a rounder shape for the petals of the flower.
  2. Let your child choose their favourite acrylic paint colours and paint the containers.
  3. After the paint’s dried you can attach a paper straw or pipe cleaner to the flower to resemble a stem.
  4. Next, choose a coloured pom pom and glue that to the centre of the painted egg carton.
