WATCH: Noordheuwel break-in takes less than three minutes

The victims of a recent break-in are asking the community to assist them with any information about the incident. They also warn residents to be on the lookout for the grey Audi believed to be linked with other break-ins as well.

A young mother returned to her home last Monday (September 20) only to find that their home had been broken into. If she returned minutes earlier she would have caught the thieves red-handed.

In a Facebook post Alecia Coetzee asked the community to assist them with information and to be on the lookout for a grey Audi with three occupants who had broken into their home on Mell Road in Noordheuwel, just past 16:00. This was not the only crime they were linked with.

She told the News that the same Audi had also been seen in Kelly Road in Noordheuwel, in Wilro Park and Roodekrans that same day.

It is believed that the vehicle’s registration number is FM 47DW GP and the family and investigating officer will appreciate any information or photos of the suspects, so that these people can be taken off the streets.

The footage from the Coetzee’s security cameras shows the vehicle reversing into the driveway. A man gets out and breaks open the small gate. The others then get out of the car and disappear off camera.

Alecia explained that they first broke open the front door lock but could not get in. They went to another sliding door which they also could not manage to open, and finally broke in through a door leading to the dining room.

The thugs are shown leaving the house with the family’s belongings, among them a new TV that was too big to fit into the car and later was left at the side of the road, Alecia told the News. The footage shows that the criminals had everything done and dusted within less than three minutes.

Anyone with information can contact the investigating officer on 083 346 3158.
