Numberplate left behind after hit-and-run

Police found a number plate on the scene of a hit-and-run incident.

Two separate accidents which happened on one scene five minutes apart from each other caused chaos and slowed down the normal traffic flow on 5 June.

The first accident was a minor bumper-to-bumper bashing where both parties were lucky enough to escaped with no injuries whatsoever.

However, the second accident, between a white-cream coloured Isuzu bakkie, a motorcyclist and a green Toyota Corolla, left the motorcyclist still searching for answers after he was knocked off his motorcycle from behind.

After the motorcyclist was knocked, the bakkie allegedly made a sudden stop and the green Toyota Corolla smashed into the bakkie from behind.

Neither the driver of the bakkie nor the Toyota Carolla got out of their vehicles to check on the injured biker, but instead decided to drive off from the scene.

A Mogale City Traffic officer who was on the scene after the collision of the first accident claims to have seen the whole incident.

Fortunately for the motorcyclist justice will be served as the guilty driver left behind his number plate as they fled the scene.

It is unclear if the number plate belongs to the owner of the bakkie or to the Toyota and police are currently investigating the matter.

The motorcyclist was lucky enough to escape the accident with minor injuries to his hand and a few scratches.
