The Royal Wedding

Pastor Gerrit Mes; from the pulpit.

I heard a surprised TV commentator who was describing the events of the day say, “The preacher stole the show”.

My sentiments exactly. The bride looked amazing. The dress, the hair, the subtle makeup were striking. The chapel, the guests and don’t forget the songs and music. It was really amazing, even to a non-royalty enthusiast.

But when Reverend Curry took to the podium, something happened that no one could have expected. The TV shot of the royal family and their famous guests said it all. Spellbound!

The message about the power of love was not only true, but so appropriate.

But what touched my heart was the man’s passion, enthusiasm and sincerity.

He didn’t try to impress the Queen or the paparazzi. He radiated his love for God and his message was uncompromising.

Love can change the world.

Today we all need to ask ourselves if that love is part of our lives. God’s unconditional love living in his people is the key to making the world a better place.

Meghan and Harry didn’t just have a great day, they received a message from God for the whole world.

My prayer is that you and I will be as passionate about this love of God in our lives. God stole the show!
