Thirty-five years ago, this month, I wrote my first article for the Krugersdorp News. Almost without miss, I have written an article every week. So, on the 1st of January 2018, I, by habit, picked up my pen to share my soul with friends, many of whom I have never met (my readers).
At the start of this new year, 2018, my prayer for you is that you will find happiness and purpose. Why these two things, you may ask. In my opinion they are linked. If you can find your purpose in life, you will be happy. And if you are happy, it is easier to find your purpose. So my prayer for you is that you pursue these two things and that you will find both purpose and happiness during this year. But if, by some reason, you are not searching for them, it is my prayer that purpose and happiness will find you.
Yesterday will always be a part of your life, but don’t live in yesteryear. Tomorrow is important, we all need dreams and goals, but don’t pin your happiness on things that may never materialise. Choose to live for today. Choose to live for others. Choose to pursue happiness and purpose.
Where does the search begin? In a place of solitude where you and I ask: who am I, where do I come from and why am I here?
For me that search started as a young boy. My journey is far from over but it keeps taking me back to the beginning. Who made me?
I pray that you will find God; if not possible, I pray that He will find you.
2018 is an adventure, don’t miss it.
