Editor's note

Time to say goodbye …

My journey here at the News has been one of many ups and just as many downs.

I honestly never though that I would ever leave … but I am, and it is time for me to say goodbye.

For almost 10 years, I sat in the editor’s chair and for almost 10 years I helped play an important role in this community (I hope).

But the time has come for the new and next generation to take over.

My journey here at the News has been one of many ups and just as many downs.

I have seen some incredible things. Things that made me very glad and things that made me extremely angry. I don’t want to specify the things that made me glad or sad, because I can’t – there are just too many!

While Krugersdorp will remain my home, I am going to miss the stories, characters and happenings that came my way.

But what I am going to miss even more is the people with whom I have crossed paths. There are so many of you who enriched my life in every way possible. I thank you for that. I also thank you for welcoming me as your editor with open arms. It has been an amazing journey.

To my brave and fearless friends and colleagues here at Caxton Joburg West … I salute you!

Thank you for always making time for me and for allowing me to do my best. I could not have done it without you.

Where to for me? Somewhere over the rainbow, but luckily not that far!

I will be keeping a watchful eye on what is happening around Krugersdorp and might even feature as a regular in the newspaper … on the letter’s page of course!

My advice to the next Krugersdorp News editor? Do it with a bang – because that is how you get their attention!

Be great Krugersdorp, because that is what you are!

Until we meet again. Take care.
