Body discovered floating in dam
The body of a man dressed in a blue overall was found floating in Coronation Dam.
Earlier this morning police, a rescue team and paramedics rushed to Coronation Dam where a local fisherman spotted something strange floating in the water.
“When the witness took his binoculars to check, he made a shocking discovery of a body floating on the water,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said.
The fisherman then alerted the authorities at around 8.30am this morning on 12 May.
Police along with police divers and the forensic team removed the body from the dam.
The body was of an unknown male believed to be 50 years of age wearing blue overalls with a white t-shirt and black shoes.
An inquest docket has been registered at the Krugersdorp Police Station.
“We are appealing to the community to help identify the deceased,” Mashale concluded.
