Mothers in Krugersdorp hugged their children extra tight on Mother’s Day after learning of the tragic death of three children on Saturday night (7 May).

Two men also lost their lives after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a palm tree on Robert Broom Drive.

This accident has shocked Krugersdorpers to the core and we here at the News share the grief.

Now rumours are circulating that speed played a major role in the accident.

How do we as a society stop this from happening?

How many more should die before it is realised that speed kills?

It is very upsetting and incredibly irresponsible that people play with their lives, and the lives of others on the road.

If you are a speedster, shame on you. Too many lives are lost on our roads and helping raise that statistics makes me sick.

A death from a motor vehicle accident is never a natural death and quite frankly I am alarmed.

But it’s too late, if the driver did speed, he paid the ultimate price and three children perished with his decision.

We will never know what happened at that exact moment, but we can surely learn from it.

Safety first Krugersdorp … safety first.
