So today I started with a four-week diet.

I am not the kind of woman who likes to diet because I have a very big problem with someone or some plan telling me what to eat, but since I’m bordering on obese, I’ve decided to try one.

For those who know me personally will know that I am not obese but rather of average size, yet according to medical charts comparing body mass index, height and weight, I am a few kilograms shy of being considered obese.

Naturally I was alarmed and horrified at the thought and then I had that yearly chat with myself about doing something about my ‘let’s call it overweight’ self.

I had a hard, long look at what I generally eat and after an opportunity presented itself to me, I am now going to give a diet a try.

I do not like it for one minute and because I have never stuck to a diet for more than two weeks, I really hope and pray that this one will.

To my fellow dieters out there, may the force be with you and may temptation not cross your path.

We can do this! Good luck!

Ps. Be sure to read my Editor’s Note next week as I will give an update on my progress.
