Beginning the festive season with a double murder is terrible.

How do you pick up the pieces of such a devastating incident?

This week we learn of a married couple who lost their lives in the most brutal way.

Just writing about it, made me sick to my core. No one deserves to die like they did, no matter what circumstances are.

As we start to prepare for the silly season, more people will become targets of spineless criminals, whether it is in petty crime incidences or more serious cases.

But what can we do? Are we fighting a losing battle? Should we just accept our fate and try to take matters into our own hands?

I do not have an answer because I am struggling with my own demons.

The writings are on the wall, the season to be jolly always has its fair share of heartbreak.

The News would like to express our deepest condolences to the family members who lost their loved ones.

May God bring your solace in your darkest time.
