Breaking the news on a Monday of two teachers dying in a tragic car accident on Sunday evening is truly heart breaking.

Many former pupils of HTS Nic Diederichs, as well as colleagues, family members and those who knew the deceased poured out their grief on social media for the loss of those who died in the car accident, which includes a five-year-old girl.

With the horrific ordeal still fresh in our minds, we here at the News also learned of two more deaths near Lanseria.

As I am writing this, my stomach is turning because death is so final. There are no second chances. There are no wrongs you can quickly make right before you die. There are no apologies to be made before you die.

The phrase “live for the moment” rings true as I type these words.

Go home today, hug your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you. Do not carry any burdens with you; apologise to those you have wronged and start living a purposeful life.

If tomorrow never comes for you, will the rest know how much you loved them … or how much you cared?

The time is now, before it is too late.

Take care Krugersdorp.
