Over 200 arrests this last week

A father, who allegedly murdered his five-year-old daughter, is among those who were arrested.

The Krugersdorp Cluster successfully arrested 210 people, including two murder suspects, last week.

One of the arrested include a father, 29, who allegedly murdered his five-year-old daughter while another murder suspect include, a 27-year-old man, is suspected of killing a woman, 43, in Kromdraai.

Captain Appel Ernst, a police spokesperson said both the suspects have already appeared in court and are still held in custody.

A further 53 arrests were made during the weekend and include numerous crimes and serious offences such as house robbery, rape and housebreaking.

Other arrests were made where suspects were found in possession of stolen property, drugs and counterfeit goods.

Ernst said crime prevention policing is very effective since the police also managed to arrest 35 suspects for drug related crimes.

Brigadier Hendry Mollegai, acting Cluster Commander expressed his satisfaction with the type of arrests that were made and indicated that the Krugersdorp Cluster will not turn a blind eye towards crimes.
