A normal night patrol by the members of the Sector 5 Community Policing Forum proved to be more than they bargained for when they accidentally found a large amount of drugs.
The members were patrolling in Krugersdorp West when they saw a suspicious looking vehicle parked behind a business in town.
The members approached the occupant, who explained that he was waiting for his wife.
The next moment a foreign national climbed into his vehicle and fled into the streets of Krugersdorp West after which the members gave chase and called for backup.
Up and down the streets of Krugersdorp West the members chased the alleged suspect who stopped in a street for a few moments only to flee again.
The members managed to close in on the alleged suspect after he crashed into a pavement.
The members went back to the street where the alleged suspect made a brief stop when they discovered a large amount of drugs in a parcel left behind by the suspect who is believed to be one of the drug dealers operating in the area.
In the parcel, members found over 88 bags of drugs, which are ready to be sold.
The amount of drugs add up to an estimated R15 000 street value which included Cat, Crystal Meth, uncut Cat and various pills.
The members handed over the drugs and the drug dealer to the Krugersdorp police.
