Man stabbed to death; suspect arrested

It is alleged the victim was stabbed several times in the upper body before succumbing to his injuries.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man, 35, to death at a plot in Tarlton.

Warrant Officer Lucky Matome, a police spokesperson at the Tarlton Police Station said it is alleged the victim was stabbed several times in the upper body.

“The victim was certified dead at the scene by paramedics and the motive for the murder is not yet known.”

Matome said the suspect has made a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 31 March to apply for bail, but that it was denied.

He is expected to make another appearance soon.

In separate incidents the Tarlton police managed to arrest 51 suspects for a variety of crimes such as assault, driving under the influence, causing malicious damage to property, child neglect, theft and common robbery.
