Are we focussing too much on rhinos, Krugersdorp?

I couldn’t help but agree with Jacaranda FM’s Complimentary Breakfast presenter Rian van Heerden while driving to work one morning.

Are we focussing too much on the extinction of the rhino than any other species, which is also on the verge of extinction?

Everywhere you go there are campaigns running about how we as a society can help prevent rhino poaching.

Rian named a few animals on the ‘almost extinct list’ and I was shocked.

Surprisingly enough, after inviting listeners to air their views, a couple also mentioned that lions are slowly becoming the second big-5 animal heading for extinction.

How is this even possible?

It is time we shift our focus. Clearly we are heading for a fall if we continue like this.
