Mindalore house on fire

Fortunately no one was hurt when a house in Mindalore caught fire on 29 June.

Motorists travelling along Chamdor Road on 29 June saw a fleet of emergency vehicles attending to a burning house in the Mindalore area.

The Krugersdorp EMS (Emergency Management Services) team received a call at 10.40am about a house on fire in Tindall Road, Mindalore, running parallel to Chamdor Road.

The Krugersdorp EMS team along with a Netcare 911 vehicle swiftly arrived at the scene and immediately searched the house and started extinguishing the fire.

Fortunately the house was empty when the fire broke out.

The scene was blocked off by means of police candy tape and Mogale City Traffic and Safety Department vehicles, to keep curious residents at bay.

Passing members of the public grouped outside the burning house to witness how the EMS team along with Netcare contained and extinguished the fire.

A bystander told the NEWS that no one was living at the house as it was in the process of being sold.

The alleged new owner got more than she bargained for when she arrived at the scene to see her newly purchased property going up in flames.

Other bystanders told the NEWS how they could hear the windows of the house shattering and the roof caving in from the fire.

It is believed that a loose connection in the wiring of the house may have led to a spark that caused the roof and later the house to catch fire.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established by an investigation.
