Netball star well on her way

Jade-Lynn Booysen hopes to fly the Krugersdorp flag high after successful netball trials.

At just 16 years old, Jade-Lynn Booysen has exceeded many people’s expectations, punching above her age to be selected in the U19 netball squad to take part in the Telkom Junior National Championships in Cape Town this July.

The Grade 10 learner from Hoërskool Monument High booked her place in the talented West Rand Netball District team after taking part in the trials held on Sunday, April 23 at the Azaadville Sports Complex.

Not only did she have to compete against many talented and relentless youngsters but did she impress players older than her – who were all fighting for a place in the team. Luckily for her, she stood head and shoulders above many.

She is also a member of the local Randfontein Netball Club.

Like many young girls, she will need sponsorship for the costs that come with the trip. Jade-Lynn is very proud to be part of the team and appreciates the opportunity and vows to fly the Krugersdorp flag high, so she is asking the community to help so she can put Krugersdorp on the map.
