LETTER: Please get the ongoing water crisis sorted

‘When will we have water?’ and ‘What is the problem?’ are but some of the questions a West Village resident asks.

So, it has been several days again, and still no water in West Village.

No one seems to care, no one seems to answer. From the mayor up to the head office of the DA. It feels like they too only make all these wonderful promises till they have a ward and then it stops like a bug sprayed with doom.

The mayor doesn’t even bother to reply to questions on WhatsApp … ‘When will we have water?’ and ‘What is the problem?’

Now, with a small footpath, I got info that again it is the generator that is in for a service. The problem here is … was the generator not sent for service in January? Was this done, or was it yet another lie to get residents off their backs? Maybe the tender was given to the cheapest one and the work was not done properly.

The other question that was never answered is … The village has a problem at the pumping station due to a legal dispute but I ask what dispute? Now let me tell you, the power to the pump station was cut due to payment failure… Why?

I am asking again. Please get the ongoing water crisis sorted.

The News has approached MCLM for comment on the matter and will be published once received — Ed.
