CIT robbers strike again in Krugersdorp

Motorists are urged to avoid the R28 in the Chancliff area following a CIT heist on Friday evening, February 17.

BCI Security confirmed that a cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery occurred on the R28 near a hospitality venue in the Chancliff area on Friday evening, February 17.

According to reports, the robbers were driving two silver Mercedes-Benz vehicles involving a group of approximately seven robbers before they targeted a CIT van.

BCI said in a viral social media message that the suspects were chased by people on the ground as well as by helicopter.

Multiple shots were fired and the helicopter fuel tank was hit. The helicopter did, however, manage to land safely. There are no injuries reported at this stage.”

Police, as well as security company personnel, are currently on the scene and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
