Homeowner assaulted and robbed

A woman and homeowner was assaulted and her cellphone stolen in what was one of four serious incidents reported to Mapogo Security last week.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s latest crime report revealed that they responded to four serious incidents for the period between January 25 and January 28.

Most of them involved some kind of theft.

At 07:50 on Wednesday, January 25, they responded to a break-in and theft in Commissioner Street.

The suspect entered the premises by cutting locks and then stole a laptop. Their reaction officers responded to another break-in and theft at about 21:06 on Saturday, January 28. This time the suspects dug a hole to get into a shop office. They then broke open an ATM door and damaged the alarm system as well as stole a number of groceries.

Then there was also an attempted theft in Rustenburg Road at about 01:50 on Saturday, January 28. The suspect had cut an electric fence but fled without taking any items.

At 16:05 that same day the officers responded to a call about an assault and theft. The suspects entered the premises through an open gate and entered the house through the back door. They then assaulted the women who owns the house. When the alarm sounded, however, they fled taking one cellphone with them.
