Brigadier Happy Xaba, the Station Commander for the Krugersdorp Police, is very pleased that his detectives’ hard work lead to the successful conviction and sentencing of a man in two separate cases.

In a statement from police spokesperson, Captain Raymond Sebonyane, Xaba expressed his happiness about Thabiso Tlhale, 29, from Munsieville who was convicted and sentenced for two separate housebreaking and theft cases.

Sebonyane explained the first incident happened in Mateisi Street in Munsieville and that Detective Sergeant Shivambu’s investigations led to the arrest of Tlhale. The victim said at about 22:00 on November 5, 2021 he had gone to bed and everything was in order. When he woke up the next day he noticed that someone had broken into his house. A sports jacket, tekkies, bluetooth speaker, Wi-Fi router and R1 200 cash were missing.

Tlhale was sentenced to three years imprisonment, which was suspended for five years, by the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court in this case.

The same perpetrator was then also convicted and sentenced for another housebreaking and theft case that he was involved in. For this case he was sentenced to five years imprisonment for breaking into a house in Gxoviva Street in Munsieville.

The complainant in this case said she was in bed on Wednesday, February 9 at about 21:30 when she opened her eyes and saw a man and recognised him as Tlhale. She screamed and he grabbed her handbag, which contained her bank cards and medication, before running away.

Detective Sergeant Maenetja investigated this case and ensured the state got a successful conviction.
