Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) is aware of water supply interruptions in Munsieville and Dan Pienaarville but the reason for the low water pressure has not been established yet.

A statement from the MCLM said its Water Services is aware of the interruption to the Munsieville and Dan Pienaar reservoir which started last Wednesday, August 31 after water levels in both reservoirs dropped.

Since then the municipality has been engaging with Rand Water, which immediately started with their system investigation and up until now there’s no concrete finding on the cause of the interruption of water supply.”

According to MCLM a statement from Rand Water said their Eikenhof booster pump station collapsed which resulted in a significant drop in all the reservoirs feeding areas of Roodepoort, Krugersdorp and parts of Johannesburg.
