Gauteng Police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili confirmed that a shooting incident in Kagiso claimed seven lives on Sunday, October 24.
“At this stage the police in Gauteng can confirm a shooting incident which left seven people dead in Kagiso in the West Rand District. Five people were injured.”
Brigadier Muridili added that according to reports, a lone gunman entered a house and shot the owner and his girlfriend, as well as their neighbour.
While on his way out the man shot randomly. Unfortunately, the street was busy as another couple was hosting their wedding celebrations that same night.
“Two other people were certified dead on the scene and another two were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds.”
A case of murder and attempted murder has been opened.
