The town’s dancing pride

Three Synergy Worx dancers received their dance colours during the SA Championship earlier in October, with one earning her spot in the Diamond Team.

Merise Zeedijk, Stephanie van der Riet and Macaela Davies of Synergy Worx Dance Studio each earned their SA colours in dance recently.

This after they danced to impress at the International Fine Art Association’s SA Championship on October 2.

During the finals, Merise racked up a 97% score and was named the overall contemporary-dance winner regardless of age or status, which qualified her to join the international dance team. This was her fourth year competing. She also earned a spot in the SA Diamond Team which is set to compete in Barcelona, Spain in 2023.

Merise is looking forward to travelling internationally for the first time in her life. But, for her to achieve this, she’ll need to raise about R60 000 and is reaching out to individuals and businesses who wish to sponsor her dancing career. For more information contact Synergy Worx via email at info@dancesynergyworx.co.za.

Newcomers Macaela and Stephanie received scores of 93,75% and 91% respectively. Macaela participated in the 11 to 14 year contemporary division, placed third and was awarded a certificate. Stephanie participated in the adult contemporary division and also received a certificate. Both will have another opportunity to earn their place in the international team in 2022.
